Champions of the Yorkshire Region 2007
All change again here at Sheffield,
Due to family and work commitments, Jim Wright has stepped down as Sheffield Rep. In the interim period from now until the Sheffield AGM in October, the group is being run jointly by Lucie Burgar and Christine Wood.
As younger members of MAG, we hope to bring new vitality and a fresh perspective to the group and our aim is to see both membership and meeting attendance grow.
We have both 'grown up' with MAG and motorcycling, and were in a sense weaned on the old standards of the Helmet Law and Leg Protectors.
Unfortunately for us the legislative bodies continue to conspire against us in ever more imaginative ways with the new Third Driving License Directive currently one of our many ongoing fights.
We believe in MAG and in the Freedom of choice and are committed activists, enjoying and participating in every aspect of MAG from Demos to events marshalling to partying.
Whether you are an existing, new or lapsed member or just plain curious, come down to our next meeting at the The Travelers Inn(2nd & 4th Sundays each month) where you will receive a warm welcome, plenty of laughs and a new insight into how and why we all still enjoy the freedom of the roads.
Ride Free in 2006.
Lucie and Chrissie.
SHEFFIELD MAG AGM
This years AGM was held on the
2nd October 2005 to be held at Cask & Cutler, Sheffield.
The report will be posted when I get it.
previous years AGM reports:-
BUS LANES
After a year long campaign, the Sheffield branch of the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) succeeded in getting Motorcycles allowed into Bus Lanes.
A year long monitored trial began on the A621 (Abbeydale Road) on the 12th of May. If the trial proves to be a success the scheme will spread throughout the Bus Lanes in Sheffield.
It's success will depend largely on the motorcyclists ability to safely use the Bus Lanes and not endanger themselves or other members of the public. It's now up to us, the motorcyclists. The council has already had adverse comments from a cycling group about Bikes in Bus Lanes, let's not give them the ammunition to get it stopped.Andy Timms - Sheffield MAG Rep.
It looks like the trial might be extended for a while. futher details when I get them.
Humber Bridge Campaign
Today (25/9/04) motorcyclists from the length and breath of the UK came together to protest about the motorcycle toll to cross the Humber Bridge.

Punctureseal offer
Punctureseal (Sheffield) has kindly offered to sell bottles of
Punctureseal for £15.00 per bottle to MAG members in Sheffield. With a
normal price of £25 this means a saving of £10, if you want to buy
some just follow the Punctureseal link on our links page.
I don't know how long this offer is going to last so I would give it some thought
sooner rather than later.
and as for how good it is, I'm still waiting for a puncture!
