There is a movement in Europe to add VAT onto all safety clothes which have previously been exempt, i.e.: helmets, safety boots, glasses etc.

Jane warns us all to be aware of our insurance as some companies are refusing to pay out on policies where the holder rides a motorbike. Some of these banks are: Lloyds TSB, Bank of Scotland and Barclays.
Our opinions are asked as to whether to reduce the cost of affiliation to clubs with under 50 members from £50 to £30. General consensus is positive.

There will be a MAG presence at Squires coffee bar with Streetbikers and membership forms, our support would be most welcome, more information to follow. Jane states her intention to stand as Regional Rep again this year and thanks us for all our help and support.

No motions received

Objectives for year to come
Keep up the good work, please continue to inform local councils of treacherous roads, unsuitable speed camera sites traffic lights which do not recognise motorbikes.

Close attention to be paid to the VAT issue. Possible letter writing campaign?

Any Other Business
Alan Woolley queries the number of Sheffield MAG members. Out of two hundred members, twelve have attended this AGM. How can we encourage more members to attend regular meetings?

Vanessa Faetz suggests a social evening with live band to encourage new people to visit. Jane Chisolm reiterates that there is a float held by Yorkshire Region to aid smaller groups in putting on events. This money must be paid back, and is not a slush fund.

Monies collected from group at large to bump start new bank account, including honoured guest who put a five pound note in and five one pound coins out! Small mistake quickly spotted! Funds now stand at £30.50. Money has been forwarded to G Timms for deposit in account.

Date of next AGM
11th July 2004 to be held at Cask & Cutler, Sheffield. End of AGM.
